Since I am a professional event planner, my friends and colleagues often joke that they wouldn’t want to have to plan an event for me since there would be so much pressure! It’s actually not true (ask my friends who threw my baby shower and did an amazing job!), but even I would be a bit wary of planning a birthday fete for the president of an award-winning event planning firm, as Joe Mineo’s colleagues at Something New Events did for him when he reached a half-century. The results are spectacular – the use of lighting is phenomenal, lending a beautiful, almost ethereal glow to the space; the florals are amazing (no wonder, as Something New Events started as a florist shop); and there’s even some inventive ways of serving food and beverage.
