Welcome to the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Week here at Planning It All! I started this tradition last fall the week of Labor Day because it’s the unofficial start to fall which means pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING. I’ll admit to being a pumpkin-aholic. I already had my first pumpkin spiced latte of the season last week (and consequently an iced version the next day – thanks Christina for letting me know about those!). I will inevitably make about a trillion loaves of pumpkin bread, batches of pumpkin cookies and pumpkin biscuits. I’ve added decorative pumpkins to my collection of fall decor. From here until about Thanksgiving it’s all pumpkin, all the time.
So I’ve decided to devote another week of pumpkin-inspired ideas here on the blog. Today we’ll look at some of my favorite pumpkin centerpieces. On Wednesday we’ll look at ways to incorporate pumpkins into fall weddings. On Thursday we’ll look at DIY pumpkin decor. All pumpkins, all the time!
[ I strongly encourage you to sip your favorite pumpkin-inspired beverage while scrolling! If it’s daytime I recommend a pumpkin spice latte but if it’s after hours, try a pumpkin beer! ]
The first lesson of Pumpkin Week 2014: Pumpkins make excellent vases. I love this one, full of gorgeous fall-colored flowers. Bonus points for the wood charger and rustic-looking table runner. This says fall all over it. Via Inspired By This:
If you prefer to mute the orange, you can paint your pumpkin before using it as a vase. Bonus points for the mini gourds! Via Momtoob:
Or you can pair the mini gourds with another vase. This white and blush combo is a great way to incorporate pumpkins without the typical fall color pallette. Via Elizabeth Anne Designs:
You can also pain pumpkins to match any color scheme. I love these ombre pink pumpkins paired with a gold pumpkin, plus the lovely flowers. These look great perched on pedestals for some height. Via Colin Cowie Weddings:
You can take the pedestal idea and use them with plain, unpainted pumpkins as well. You can jazz them up with a ribbon or fabric leaf. Via Better Homes & Gardens:
There you have some classy and fabulous pumpkin centerpiece ideas for your table! Share your pumpkin centerpiece ideas in the comments!
