bridal bellhop: saving washington dc-area brides time & headaches

wedding planning made easy for DC area brides

When Grace Lee started to plan her wedding a few years ago, she was completely overwhelmed by all the information out there. “I was in the midst of planning my wedding and I had a new job and a new house. I got caught up in finding vendors and all of the back and forth to find out pricing and availability.” While Grace was able to find all of the vendors for her wedding eventually, after her wedding day she wondered if there wasn’t an easier way for brides to find vendors. Thus the idea for Bridal Bellhop was born.

Bridal Bellhop is a concierge service that matches brides-to-be with vendors in the Washington, DC area. Instead of having to shop around and reach out to vendors individually and start over when the initial search yield results out of a bride’s price range or unavailable for her wedding date, Bridal Bellhop does the work for her. The bride simply fills out a request form online and within 24 hours Bridal Bellhop promises to get back in touch with potential vendors that match the bride’s specifications.

“Our goal is to save brides time and energy throughout the planning process,” Grace, the company’s founder and developer says. “In DC alone there are so many talented wedding professionals. We help tailor the bride’s search to her price range and date.”

The site, which is still in the pilot phase, is limited to Washington, DC, but Grace hopes to eventually expand nationally. Right now the matching is done manually, but Grace is working on automating the process which will allow Bridal Bellhop to scale up in a big way, and help brides all around the country.

The vendors that Bridal Bellhop works with – or as they are referred to on the site “wedding mavens” – are a diverse blend of wedding professionals that cater to all budgets and styles. In perusing the list of vendors I saw some DC wedding veterans as well as up and coming newbies to the industry.  Bridal Bellhop works with mavens in all wedding services – from florists to DJs to – of course- wedding planners.

Since Grace spends a lot of time working with wedding professionals, I had to ask her thoughts on various trends. Her favorite trend right now? “Intimate weddings. As people are getting married later in life they have more flexibility in their guest lists and can have smaller, more intimate weddings that are more special.”

What about a trend that is pretty much over already? “I’m over mason jars,” Grace laughs.

I’m excited to see this small business grow; it’s sure to save countless hours (and headaches) for brides getting married in the DC area.

If you are a bride planning a DC-area wedding, submit a vendor request on Bridal Bellhop’s website. If you are a wedding professional. visit the website to submit an application to join the pilot program.
