fun and unique gift wrap with tags by alexis mattox design

Not everyone cares about the gift wrap, but I have always loved painstakingly tying ribbons and bows on my gifts and searching for unique ways to package them. So I was ecstatic to come across some gift tags by Alexis Mattox Design.

I recently attended Alt for Everyone, which is an online version of Alt Summit, which a conference on the business of blogging.  I had so much fun and learned so much, and connected with so many fabulous bloggers that I can’t wait to follow!

Anyway, just like at an in-person conference, Alt for Everyone had a gift box – only this one was mailed to our door! It was full of fun goodies, but one of the items I immediately picked out was a set of laser cut gift tags. It came paired with red and white string, which immediately reminded me of the bakeries I used to visit growing up in New York. The red and white string would be quickly, but gingerly, tied around white bakery boxes filled with delicious treats, such as cookies, eclairs, cannoli… I get hungry just thinking about it!

I knew I wanted to use the gift tags for Mother’s Day since we were hosting brunch and celebrating my mother and my mother-in-law (AKA multiple presents to tag!). Since I was so attached to the memory of the bakery boxes, I decided to use plain white paper to wrap the gifts, that way the string and brightly colored tags would really pop!

The set includes various designs for different gift-giving moments: birthdays, engagements, new babies, and more. There wasn’t a Mother’s Day specific one so I used the “XOXO” tag.

The tags are available in different sets based on occasion. The shop also sells laser cut greeting cards, banners, pennants and journals. Visit the shop here.  I highly recommend them!

PS – If you are wondering, I didn’t misspell “Mommy” – but I refer to my Mom as “Mom Y.” to differentiate her from my mother-in-law, “Mom L-E.”
