friday favorites – best mother’s day ideas

Mother’s Day is on Sunday. It’s not too late to add some fun touches to make the day special, especially if you’re hosting your mother at home. Here are a few of my favorite ideas that other blogs have featured.

#5  “Moms Are Sweet” Styled Party

I like this fun twist on a mother’s day theme – citrus! While the decor incorporated oranges, my favorite part were the adorable printables. Photo by Christine Hamrick Photography via Whimsically Detailed.

#4 Edible Flower Donuts

If there were ever a holiday to try and incorporate edible flower donuts, I think it would be Mother’s Day. While this idea isn’t strictly for Mother’s Day, I thought they were a unique and fun option. Just make sure the flowers really are edible! Via Studio DIY.

#3 Navy & Pink Printables

I love these Mother’s Day-specific printables by Anders Ruff. The entire set is available as an instant download and includes templates for gift tags, bottle labels, cupcake wrappers and more for $12.50. This would be a great shortcut to adding some style to your Mother’s Day brunch!

#2 Free Printable Pick-me-ups

This is such a cute idea – print out these “pick-me-up” cards and fill out the back. Each has a prompt, such as “I love you because…” or “I remember when…” The file is available (for free!) from Pen n’ Paper Flowers, including some fun suggestions on how to package them as a gift for your Mom. This would be fun for children or adults!

I love this simple Mother’s Day banner. It’s available as a free printable from Oh Happy Day – some assembly required. You can also use the flower graphics to adorn placecards or gift tags.

Happy Mother’s Day!
