I’ve always had a place in my heart for football mums. Not only are the flowers fluffy and fun, but my maternal grandmother carried them for her bouquet on her wedding day. I can’t see a football mum and not think of Nana.
Football mums are the largest variety of chrysanthemum family and are considered a fall flower. They get their name from their use in football homecoming corsages in Texas. I love the idea of using football mums with hydrangea – the two different flowers can add texture to an all-white bouquet or centerpiece.
The large flower can also be used to help fill out an arrangement with roses or other focal flowers.
